Build a 3D Site Without Code with Framer
Scroll Parallax
- Select the Embed element in Desktop and add Effects.
- Choose Scroll Speed, set the speed at 80%.
That’s it! Just a couple of clicks and you get an awesome effect.
Multiple Parallax Effects
Let’s apply the same effects on multiple text elements.
- Make sure to lock (Cmd + L) the Embed element, otherwise the text elements won’t be easily selectable.
- Select the Button, Title, Text and Columns and add Scroll Speed at 95%.
- Change the Speed of Title, Text and Columns to 90%, 85%, 80% respectively.
- Set the Rows overflow to Visible. This will ensure that elements won’t be clipped when they get out of the boundaries.
Layout Template
Framer has a number of pre-made layout elements that you can use instead of starting from scratch. They’re easily customizable and can save a lot of time.
- Select Desktop and add a new Section by clicking on the + icon at the bottom.
- Insert a Layout → Hero Gradient. Sometimes, it helps to start with a template or copy from an existing element. Remove the background. Once you have a content, you can set the Columns height to Fit Content.
- Insert an Icon Phosphor: Rocket.
- Change title “Many types of components to customize”, choose Subtitle text style: ExtraBold 50, white, center. Click Add Breakpoints.
- Change text “Build a website without writing a single line of code using Framer components and customizing the entire content”, Paragraph, Grow Auto Width.
- Select button, Replace with Button and change to Variant 2, icon to Cards and text to Learn More.
- Create a Frame, width 50%, height 1, white 10%.
- Create a text “Grow your business, reach new audiences, and hit your goals with integrations.”, Caption.
- Select all texts and set to width Fill and center.
- Select container and set Max Width to 400, Padding 100, 30, 100, 30.
Scroll Appear
To create a parallax effect below the hero portion can be a bit tricky because of positioning.
- Select Columns and insert an Image. Move layer outside of Rows, inside Columns. Rename to Image.
- Change Position Type to Absolute, and set the constraints to 0 on all sides. Do the same for Tablet and Phone.
- Change Fill Image to wallpaper1.
- Set Scroll Speed, 90% and change to Scroll Top 500.
- Set background color to #150067. This will fill the gap where the image is not present.
- The Image will move outside of the bounds of the container, so it’s best to change the Overflow to hidden for Columns.
Card Component
Let’s create more content for this section. This time, we’ll use Unsplash for images and apply a nice blurred layer that adds a nice effect with the parallax.
- Create a Frame 300x300 with Corner 40, 0, 40, 40.
- Change the Image to Unsplash, search for 3D Render and select one by Javier Miranda.
- Create a Frame 300x120 with Corner 40, Fill black 20%, Border white 10%, Bg Blur 40. Set Layout, Padding 20 and Align left.
- Add 3 texts: Coit Tower, 30 mins ago, 3,054 Steps, to Footnote 2, Caption, Caption 2 respectively.
- Insert Button 2 component and set Absolute, top 20, right 20.
- Duplicate 3rd text, change to “3% higher”, right 20, bottom 20.
- Create Component Card.
- Set Title as Variable.
- Create Variant 2 and remove Image, Fill white 10%, Border white 10%, Bg Blur 40. Set Layout, Gap 20.
- Add Phosphor icon PersonSimpleRun 30x30, white.
- Add Title “Close your Rings” Subtitle and “Lorem ipsum is placeholder text commonly used in the graphic” Caption, center, width 260.
- Select Title and Icon and Create Frame. Set width and height to Fit, direction horizontal.
- Select container and set width Fill, height Fit, padding top 20.
- Create Variant 3, remove background and border and set padding top to 0.
- Select the Variant 1 and set a Realistic Shadow to Y 100, Diffusion 1, Focus 0.5. This should apply to all variants.
Wrap Content
When you have a lot of horizontal content, you can decide to move exceeding elements to the next line automatically. This saves the trouble of setting extra frames.
- Duplicate Card Component and set title to San Francisco and select another 3D render, height 400.
- Select both components and Create Frame, direction vertical, gap 50. Set Overflow to Visible.
- Copy and Paste a Card Component and change the text to Cuppertino, Image to another 3D render.
- Select the whole Section and set the gap to 30.
